Deanna Larmeu (b.1980 Metairie, LA) was raised while often fishing or crabbing on Bayou Bienvenu. She received an M.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2023. She has a B.F.A. a B.S. and a Minor in Art History from Louisiana State University. Solo exhibitions have been online and in New Orleans. In 2022 she accepted The Gelman Trust Endowed Scholarship from SCAD. In 2023 she was appointed to the Superintendent's Teacher Council for Jefferson Parish school system.
Her work is mixed media created with traditional and digital methods. Pieces range from medium to large scale and display her Gothic and anxiety-tinged perspective on internal and external life. Currently, she is a member of Coldwater Art Gallery which enables her to support a community that she loves dearly. She is also a writer and illustrator for Anti-Gravity Magazine. In addition, she educates teens in Visual and Graphic Arts and has since 2004.
